CB U19 T20 Competition – Staffordshire

You may have already be aware of the above competition but as a league we are actively looking to remind clubs and encourage them to enter the competition.

We are of course running our own U21 V3 competition this season and see the U19 T20 as providing another opportunity to offer cricket to a group of youngsters to further our wish for them to remain within the game.

We are looking for another 4-6 NSSCPCL Clubs to enter this competition, which will give a good representation from the North of the County and allow for fixtures to be local in the initial stages. THIS COMPETITION IS IN ADDTION TO THE SUCCESSFUL V3 CUP, WHICH WILL BE RUNNING AGAIN IN 2016

Current Teams to have entered – Checkley & Stone

Purpose of the competition?

  • Another opportunity to retain young players aged between 15 and 19 in the game, as well as NSSCPCL V3 competition.
  • To allow U19 players to play with, and against their own peer group in their own competition.

Competition Format

  • 20 Overs, 11-a-side game.
  • Support from Clubs in NSSCPCL to give local matches to generate 2 – 4 fixtures for all teams.
  • 2 players allowed from neighbouring clubs.
  • Fixtures to be played at convenient times for clubs between May and August.
  • County Finals Day to be played late August / early September.

What should clubs that enter do?

  • Participate in the right spirit and use the competition as a way to retain players
  • Embrace the concept and allow young players to take ownership
  • Create a T20 atmosphere in the club that helps retention
  • Use Play-Cricket to upload scores and full scorecards
  • Ensure players are registered on Play-Cricket, allowing them to receive updates on performances and statistics (which help with retention)

Creating the Blast

  • Clubs encouraged to use music, BBQ etc to create T20 atmosphere for home matches

DEADLINE FOR ENTRY IS 31ST JANUARY 2016
